TSKgel BioAssist Q columns are packed with spherical, polymer beads with approx. 4000Å pores. They are surface modified with a strong anion exchanger. The very large pores allow large biomolecules to freely enter and exit the pores resulting in higher binding capacity and better recovery of activity than other competitive materials. The standard column is 4.6mm ID x 5cm, while a 10mm ID x 10cm semi-preparative column is available for scale-up. Both columns are made of PEEK to reduce protein adsorption.
