TOYOPEARL MegaCap II SP-550EC resin is a high capacity cation exchange resins optimized for the capture and purification of small peptides such as insulin and proteins up to 100 kDa.  This resin is composed of a base material of hydroxylated methacrylic polymer beads that have been functionalized with sulfopropyl (S) strong cation exchange groups.

TOYOPEARL MegaCap II SP-550EC resin can be used for high throughput capture and intermediate purification process steps. TOYOPEARL MegaCap II SP-550EC resin is available in one particle size, 200 µm, which corresponds to the EC-grade.

TOYOPEARL MegaCap II SP-550EC exhibits typical dynamic binding capacities in the vicinity of 130 g/L for insulin, maintains high capacity at increased linear velocities, has good pressure-flow characteristics, and will withstand back pressures up to 0.3 MPa.
